Was in Kulai last week to learn something from the housing project there. Spent most of the night time in JB bcos there isnt much things to do in Kulai. So, I went to Danga Bay for dinner with my supervisor on the 2nd night there.
The "bay-walk" is quite long and definitely a lot of money was pour in to do the project. It's a place of leisure for family and i doubt it'll atrract any foreign tourists there bcos there is no decent chinese seafood restaurant there!! IMHO, chinese is THE way to prepare seafood. (though occasional western-style seafood is delightful too :-D). Went to City Square and the duty-free complex at The Zon too on the following days.
The traffic in JB and along the highway back to Skudai/Pontian/Kulai woiuld usually start to get heavy after working hours until 8-9pm. Those working in S'pore would drag their tired body and exhausted mind driving soulessly back to home.
Popular bookstore has abig promotion going on at the ground floor of The Curve. I was there 2 days ago at bought lot of staffs. Photo albums, Original DVD of 宫崎骏动画系列. It contains 7 dvds and 13 movies. The best is, it only costs me $35.90. It's definitely a steal!!!. In addition to that, I bought the Special illustrated edition of Angels & Demons. I've read the book but since i've a copy of illustrated copy of The Da Vinci Code, so i might as well buy this too especially when it is 50% off!!! Those photos inside really make me crave for a holiday in Rome and follow the trail for the story to look at the sistine chapel, st. peter's basilica, famous fountain Piaazza Navonna and not to forget the controversial sculpted "The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa". (According to the book, the Pope had rejected the sexually explicit sculpture in the Vatican and banished it to a obscure chapel across the town. )
