Day?

So... I told my diet to go fuck itself today. That isn't to say that I sat down and ate a bucket of ice cream or something, but I did eat normally. I decided that all the hype was for nothing. I lost 4 pounds... I am sure by not eating a lot of white bread and sugar that would begin to happen anyway. Whatever. So I am a big fat failure, yay me ( Read more... )

Fad diets are just that. A fad. Something that will come and go. You need to go to the library and study the human body and understand how it works. Knowledge is power. Without it - you will be forever captive to this yo-yo. If you have treated your body like shit for years, a week is not going to change anything. The 4 pounds is water. You need a combination of a healthy and balanced diet and exercise EVERY day. If you were to do this and put in hard work, you will have noticable results in 6 months, not 1 week. The longer you put this off, the longer you are teaching your metabolism and body how to behave.

I don't think I have treated my body like shit... and this is the first diet I have ever tried. I took a recommendation from someone that I trusted. *shrug* It didn't work for me. I will continue to try, but not in that specific way. It will take time.

You have not treated your body like shit. Maybe your environment has constantly assaulted you... but you've been good. Reasonably. ;-)

I'm only going to say it one more time and then I'll let it go forever: If you try Veganism and really go at it, you'll be very pleased with the results. It's not a diet, it's a way of life, and it's healthier than anything else out there.

I AM glad to see you get off that diet! It wasn't healthy.

It was not a diet, it was a cleansing regime.

I tried veganism for a year. It sucked.

1.) Then it was cleansing BS. You don't 'cleanse' your body like that. The only way to cleanse your body is to not eat at all, and only drink organic fresh juice. You can't cleanse and put potatoes, meat and soup through your system.

2.) Then you weren't doing it right, or for the right reasons.

Wow. Erm...

I find your comments to be very judgmental.

I don't see why your opinion about the correct way to cleanse your body is authoritative. I get the feeling you believe in your system strongly, so if you could provide me some hyperlinks or bibliography supporting your view of proper cleansing diets I would be happy to be educated on the subject.

I don't see how you can have an opinion about how or why I experienced veganism as I did without asking for more background information. I think the assumptions you stated are a defensive reaction. I can see that you feel strongly about veganism, and I assure you my statement regarding my own personal experience with it was not meant as an attack on your choices, decisions, convictions, or ability to judge what works for you. I'm glad that you are pleased with the results veganism has brought you, I congratulate you on finding something that works so well for you.

"no one loves that much for that long"

That is true, nobody does. The question is: what does that love grow into? Tell me, what do you think the passion of the honey-moon phase can grow into?

If you don't love yourself, how can you love someone else? two WHOLE people must come together to make a couple. You are not whole right now. You've gone from one man to another (and I don't care that he made you wait a whole month...)without learning who YOU are WITHOUT someone (in my opinion ( ... )
