Ooh, did I actually learn something?

I think I may have finally learned to keep my mouth shut when it comes to 'straightening out' the misinformation people like to pass along to one another.  I can usually ignore the random email popping up or other written propaganda, but when it comes out of someone's mouth, there's something just... enticing about blabbing on about how it won't ( Read more... )

You're lucky you have accessible public transportation to get to and from work, and only have to drive if you want to go elsewhere. You're also lucky that you have a dual income to help with the increasing costs of everything.

So while they keep increasing the cost of gas, with out without higher taxes, the rest of us will wonder how we will get to work so we can pay the rest of our bills.

As a side note, I learned this weekend that gas in Oz works out to about $7.25 a gallon. And they have shit public transportation where "the guys" are.

So raise oil taxes and screw over everyone who doesn't have options. Nice.

It isn't just gas. Heating oil is insane. It's going to suck horribly for those in the mid-west and east coast. How many people are going to freeze to death this winter because they can't afford to heat their homes.

Something needs to be done. Yes, alternatives are the answer. Screwing everyone over in the mean time isn't going to make the alternatives come faster. It's just going to keep screwing them over.

I don't disagree with you regarding the suffering of people. I just believe that it's clearly become necessary that people suffer in order to actually get something done ( ... )

Added: When I am talking about $200, I didn't mean for the entire winter. I meant for the month of February.
