Our anniversary was good. Chris went out for pizza and movies, and I went out for Blizzards, but besides that we stayed in bed naked all day. I had a great time. Plus, all this free time means I'm gonna tell you all about the movies we watched! Hooray!
We watched "
17 Again." I loser guy wakes up and he's 17, but it's still in the present day. You know how it's gonna end, but the sexual tension between Zac Efron (which reminds me of nephron, part of the kidney) and Leslie Mann was totally awesome. I'd make out with him. The best part was Thomas Lennon and his attempts to woo the principal. Easy and entertaining.
Hounddog is one of those movies that you aren't gonna feel very good after. Dakota Fanning is a poor girl in the south who loves Elvis. She'd do just about anything to get a ticket to the concert. It does not go well. I cried. Robin Wright Penn is also in this. Does she ever play anything but weak trashy women? Ok maybe in Princess Bride she wasn't trashy, but you have to admit. Buttercup was a bit of a trainwreck.
Gran Torino is apparently a car. Clint Eastwood plays Walt Kowalski the grumpiest old bastard in the world. His wife dies and immediately his sons talk about putting him into a retirement home and taking his stuff. He hates them. Then a Hmong family moves in next door and that brings gang trouble. Walt befriends the son after the son tries to steal his car, and teaches him stuff. In no way do I believe this could happen. Walt fought in Korea and spits racial slurs the whole movie. i find it hard to believe he would even associate with Asian neighbors, much less protect them and eat dinner with them. It's a good movie, but I just don't buy it.
In other news, there is some critter that is fucking with my plants in the middle of the night. It ran off with my avocado seed, my split rock succulent, and this morning the violet is gone. The whole damn plant. There's dirt everywhere but no sign of the plant. ARGH!!
Also, I start school tomorrow.
