So, recently, I've been having some computer troubles.
The first problem was I got a nasty virus... so nasty it beat up my anti-virus software for it's lunch money. Getting rid of this virus involved uninstalling the anti-virus software, getting malware bytes, renaming malware bytes, getting rkill and running that then the renamed malware bytes, then restarting my computer. Lather, rinse, and repeat that for 2 more times, then download and run spybot search and destroy and lspfix. Repeat the rkill and malware bytes. Restart. Took me the better part of the day and I had to have Wolfie help me get started. Once I got started though I beat the bloody living hell out of that damn virus. And got AVG reinstalled and updated.
The other problem was Windows Installer. It was borked and popping up whenever I'd receive mail, wouldn't let me send mail today (which was the last straw) and was making it so I couldn't fix my itunes problem and actually have music on my iPod. So I fixed that, then went through the process of uninstalling itunes, quicktime, and all the related programs the apple software site told me to nuke, then finally reinstalling it all and HUZZAH! My iPod, which I just resynced and am charging, now actually has music again!
It might seem a little silly to crow about such little achievements, but with my health and work issue at the moment, it feels damn good to be able to fix something.
