Christian rock sucks.
Mostly because of its insidious contradiction it exploits for pure marketing purposes. There's a subtle but very real difference between music about believing something as a matter of course, and "faith-music", and most of it falls into the latter category of suckitude.
That said, I have few heroes, and even fewer religious heroes, but
this guy is now one of them. The guy in the red hat is right; you can tell he's completely serious and legitimate after watching the video for a couple minutes. If I had to make a statement, the most important part of this, and the reason it's not a novelty, as the BBC would have you believe, is that rather than co-opt something popular for the purposes of religion, Brother Cesare fell for it, and immediately drew the conclusion that given music's qualities, it must be good.
"I do it to convert people to life, to understand life, to grab hold of life, to savour it and enjoy it. Full stop" he says.
He's got my vote for Pope.
