MUSIC: Things that are making me dance right now
Man I love music. Not to sound cliche or anything but it is totally fucking awesome. Just fyi if your new to the universe.
Now I have always been into alt rock because I can remember classmates making fun of me for sublime being my favorite band when I was 10. I am convinced they had no fucking clue what they were talking about because Sublime is still the shit. Anyway I going to move onto (much) more recent bands.
Animal by Miike Snow is one of the funnest songs I have heard in a long while. I can listen to it on repeat for an hour and still enjoy it on the last playing.
The XX just popped onto my radar a month or two ago. Frankly I don't know jack shit about the band but almost everything I have heard by them is at the very least decent, if not fantastic like this next video Crystalized.
The XX has also done a bangin job with remixing Florence and the Machine's You've Got the Love. Now Florence has a beatiful voice and pretty hair, but something about her songs always stuck me as a little abrasive. For me the remix is paced better and I am in love with the harmonies.
This last song is one that I discovered on someones ipod sitting outside my dorm with nothing to do smoking some hookah. It is at the same time hopeful and desperate, all colliding together to create something a little more than the sum of its parts. Please enjoy Puppydo Love by Serengeti and Polyphonic.
