Buddies! Totally buddies! Illyria is legitimately fond of ZEX. I have no idea how that happened! I mean, she does think he's kind of gross sometimes with all the lusting after everything. But she likes having someone else who is invested in Marcy's well-being to talk to, and they hang out and have compatible varieties of crazy and killing him that one time was fun and he didn't hold a grudge! BFFs! She does also think that he thinks too highly of her, though, because underneath the superiority complex is also a deep well of self-loathing and disappointment at self.

ILLYRIA IS SO CUTE!!! ZEX legit likes her, because even though she is big on death and killing and is in fact Cthulu in a lot of ways, he sees her as a very alien being attempting to connect with a very human form, and getting a lot of stuff lost in translation. She's trying really hard to be herself while taking into account her new body/lack of abilities/desires, and he wants to help her in any way he can. He finds her unique and fascinating, and genuinely thinks of her as a friend--but doesn't kid himself at all about her insanity or self-destructiveness.

Also ZEX has lots of friends who kill him to express their feelings w/e w/e w/e not a big deal

If you hadn't apped Illyria, who else from Angel/Buffy would you have apped and why?

Probably Darla. She is one of the so many awesome women from those shows and she's hot and has a lot of anger (both of which are obvious pings for me in female characters) but a complexity all of her own. I love the real joy she takes in ordinary, every day violence and the way that, even though she's totally hung up on Angel(us), she still thinks he's a bit of a dick a lot of the time.

If you were to app from Angel/Buffy who would you app and why?

I want to know about Batwoman's thoughts on Santana!

Batwoman is not really sure what her thoughts on Santana are. XD She started talking to Santana because Santana reminds her of her hot ex-girlfriend and she keeps talking to her because she likes having something to be annoyed about. Plus Santana has this sort of vulnerable wounded animal thing going that Batwoman feels like she should therefore as a responsible adult protect Santana somehow.../encourage the anger irresponsibly/argue with constantly.

After their last thread, Santana is starting to see Batwoman more as a person and less as a person to flirt with, which will mean over time the flirting will cut down (though the lewd comments won't, because, well, this is Santana). Due to the part where she said she only unmasked because Santana irritated her enough, Santana suddenly feels this need to assert herself as someone who actually matters, when before, really, she just wanted to have sex with Batwoman because unlike the other girls in camp, the whole identity/just hitting on a hot, older woman thing separated her enough from the act that it didn't have to have that angsty, deeper connection. But Batwoman asserted herself as a person, which will complicate things, but only somewhat. Complicate in making her more human, but it's not like Santana is going to lose sleep over it.

Can you tell me a bit about Batwoman and Renee's relationship?

Batwoman and Renee's relationship exists mostly in 52 and in flashbacks in Greg Rucka's run on Detective Comics and I haven't read 52 for a while so let's see what I remember

Thor and Illyria have been surprisingly companionable so far. Usually she treats big power as a threat to her that she must fight from the get-go but because Thor first caught her when he was tiny and ridiculous and then talked to her like she had interesting things to say they've so far gotten along okay. So she's tentatively interested in continuing to speak with him without sharp pointy things between them, but still volatile enough that their continuing acquaintance could at any time erupt into violence.

I'm interested to know what Thor thinks of Illyria.

That Thor's being slightly confrontational toward Illyria is something of a sign of respect. It's one of his ways of acknowledging her power, but Thor wouldn't be Thor if he wasn't up-front about his willingness to get in her way if need be.

That said, he'd really rather avoid that if possible--he's... well, enjoyed their conversations so far and wouldn't mind keeping them up. He's particularly interested in the side of her she showed the last time they spoke, because he wasn't expecting it and it appeals to his compassionate nature. He'd like to help her--but at the same time he's not forgetting that he considers her a threat... And isn't going to let her forget that he hasn't forgotten, either.

First impressions for Cross on Ebi?

He thinks she's nice and it's great that she shares pictures and is a healthy adult role model for Zero but oh boy he so desperately wants to know what Zero did that she won't tell him about.

He seems nice! And he's important to Zero, so she's going to do her best to help him adjust to camp. Anyone who is important to Zero is automatically important to Ebi. She can tell they'll get along and looks forward to scrapbooking and has even gotten Yuuki and Zero to agree to join them for a scrapbooking party.

Is saying 'everything about him' a cop out? XD I caught an episode of the anime on TV and Cross was funny and ridiculous but sharp and caring and worried about his responsibilities underneath and I knew I had to read the manga as soon as I could so I could app him. It was fate! Especially given I've been really in the mood to read/watch things with interesting depictions of single parents the last few years.

My only knowledge of Fruits Basket is the anime, so how is Momiji different by the end of the manga?
