Good Things Come in Unexpected Packages (Also: iTunes meme!)
I imagine this is what it's like to have a hangover. I've never had a physical one (bless my good Celtic genes), but all the same, I feel like hell--irritable, headachey, filled with a righteous rage so potent that I don't think I even have the words to describe it.
You know how Snape occasionally snaps, loses control and becomes inarticulate with rage? Yeah, that was me last night.
The Red Wings did not win. They played far better than their opponents, they were within 30 seconds of winning the Stanley Cup, and then the unthinkable happened: a flukey goal. A tie. Three overtimes. A lucky shot that means that they'll have to do it all over again tomorrow night.

So naturally, I woke up this morning ready to verbally eviscerate the first person to cross my path... but then something unexpectedly nice happened: I got a birthday card from a good friend I haven't heard from in months, attached to a big box of baked goods on my porch from Zingerman's Bakehouse. The cookies and brownies are delicious and massive (I'd guess they're nearly a half-pound each) and exactly the sort of thing that brightens the worst of days. ~cookie bliss~ It's an early birthday present from my friend, entirely unexpected and doubly cherished because of that. :D How fortunate I am to have such friends!
Now that my harsh edges have been soothed by an infusion of deliciousness, I've indulged in the iTunes meme that's going around, although I followed geminiscorp's lead and cut the number of songs from fifty (!) to a more reasonable thirty. A few of these actually have the title in the first line (heh), and extra bonus points go to the person who gets the one that's in the original Italian. *g*
