Positively Proud
Today turned out to be ultra-rainy and dark and cold, so definitely no bulb planting today. Or this weekend.
But there still turned out to be many good things on Day 5 of Scoffy's Positivity Meme! Thus:
*Mirrorball Shoes are backordered and won't arrive in time for the wedding, which seems like it should be a bad thing. But instead, I seized the opportunity to go shoe shopping with Mom, and it was great fun. She got a warm new pair of slippers. I got a pair of four-inch-heel platform sandals made out of faux-snakeskin and patent leather. (She talked me into it, I swear. Mom is not a flamboyant dresser, but I think she's having fun using me as her dress-up doll.) But the shoes rule. Not only are they wicked comfortable, but they make me feel like a giant. A sexy giant! And the faux-snakeskin is a tribute to all my Slytherins out there. ;-)
*Also did a bit more shopping with Mom, where I spotted a really nice transitional jacket, purple with acid green lining. Tried it on and it fit like a dream, but I thought it was a little overpriced... until it turned out to be on sale and marked down thirty dollars. Bingo! I will wear it with the cuffs turned up, so the lining shows. :D
*At this point, I should probably note that it is also a good thing that my mother is not only my mother, but an awesome friend. I am very fortunate in this.
*Cold and damp weather also means that this is the perfect time to make and enjoy soup... so when I got home, I did just that and made a pot of vegetarian Spicy Red Lentil Soup. It was delicious, warming and soul-soothing, both in the making and the eating. Better yet, I have leftovers to enjoy this week.
*Best of all: got home in time to watch the most excellent MSU-Wisconsin game... and MSU won! They won! Number 24 took down Number 11! And they did it while their coach was in the hospital, recovering from a blood clot, too. I'm really proud of the discipline and determination they showed. They made me feel very, very proud to be a Spartan. ~dances with glee~
