I admit I didn't think of nominating The French Connection in Best DH, but that story is certainly a favorite. And "Let Nothing You Dismay" is a warming "comfort food" fic for me--which is what I think good fluff is--so voting for it there is a no brainer for me without even knowing the contenders.

Seriously--imo much deserved. Isn't it you who says you don't need hundreds of thousands of words to make an impact?

To be perfectly honest, the French Connection nomination pretty much blew my mind. To say that it was unexpected is a massive understatement. I'm still sort of stunned by it!

Well, yeah, and I stand by the assertion that it's the power of your words and not the quantity of them that gives a story impact. I really believe that. But to be perfectly honest, I've often had the feeling that I'm relatively alone in that belief... and in any case, when I said that, I definitely wasn't thinking about my stories in particular. *g*
