I'm waaaaay behind the ball on this, unfortunately, but who cares! Life was busy these past two weeks, what with Kimba getting sick again (another urinary tract infection, ugh! I wonder if it's her food that's causing her to get these every now and then, or if it's just coincidence that it's the same thing she had a few years back) and the Manager From Hell being on vacation this week so work was actually pleasant.
But holy crap, when I browsed Blood Horse this morning?
FUCK YEAH.
HORSE OF THE YEAR. And much deserved. So very much deserved.
Horse of the motherfucking DECADE, says I. And perhaps one of the greatest in modern times, just because she was so talented, and such a great asset to the sport. She never ran any faster than she had to, but she had all that speed and strength in reserve, and you could just tell. And she always cut such an amazing figure on the track, what with her size (she TOWERS over her rivals quite literally! XD) and her striking dark bay coat (always fully dappled out, too!) and her dancing post-parade moves. She loved her fans' adulation as much as they loved giving it to her. She just ate it all up.
I will miss Zenyatta on the track, but man... so glad that she won Horse of the Year. Blame just didn't DO enough.
Oh yeah, and for those who don't know, who aren't on my Skype or IRC channel chats, my parents moved out of the house on Christmas Eve, moved into my grandmother's mobile home. They intend to finish fixing up this house and eventually sell it, though with the market so bad, they are hesitant to sell right now even after the remodeling and repairs are done, so they may rent it out for a while. Dunno. In any case, with my dad's bad back and the fact that he needs surgery, it'll be a few months, probably, before any decisions are made on this house.
Kimba and I still live here, and she'll stay with me. When the time comes, I'll have to find an apartment, and I'll have to find one that will let me keep her. So, yeah.
