For our ELI service project, we fixed up the Hospital Hospitality House. I planted flowers, and it was a lot more gratifying than i would've thought. At one point i realized that if i did more stuff like this, i could find that there are other sources of happiness besides people you'd like to date.
The ironic thing is that i full-out BEGGED Jared and Angel to let me leave early (early being after all the work was done and all we had left to do was eat) so i could go to Spindletop. After about 10 minutes, Angel said yes; i told her i loved her and gave her a hug. I bolted back to the dorm to get ready (i only had about 10 minutes), and then set off with Peter, Roger, and Amanda. Roger miscalcuated the directions, ie he had no clue how to get there despite his map, and by the time we realized where we needed to be, we were 30 minutes in the opposite direction.
So we went to Panera, where i spent $10.00 on the best sandwich and worst smoothie i've ever tasted.
Took a much-needed nap for 2 hours, then worked from 5-10 in the Cats Den, where i read Mere Christianity. That book makes Blue Like Jazz seem like child's play. I absolutely adore it; it's winderful. It sort of makes me lose motivation for typing BLJ in here, but i'll pick that back up eventually.
Right now i have to read and do homework...maybe sleep some more?
