One of my fave. BL couple is Keishi Fujishima and Tohru Takahisa from the Cold Sleep series by Narise Konohara. I like these two because their story was so sad. The first book dealt with Tohru's memory loss and him slowly falling in love with this kind, withdrawn Fujishima, who intern tried not to get too close to Tohru.
Cold Light, dealt with their past, basically their childhood and their first encounter. It was heartbreaking to see how Fujishima's mother was the cause of both their pain. Because of the events that took place, Fujishima grew up to fear his mother, and obey her every command, while on the other hand, Tohru turned violent and short tempered. He ended up hating Fujishima, while Fujishima still tried to reach out to him. In the second half, Tohru struggled with getting his feelings across while Fujishima hid his feelings away afraid of getting hurt if his memories ever returned. It was hardest on him because he loved Tohru since they were children. He finally gave in and told Tohru everything, and they were very happy..for now.
Cold Fever, was the hardest one for me to read. I cried through most of it. Tohru got his memories back and he was angry. He forgot about the six years he spent in love with Fujishima. When he found out that they were a couple, he got violent. I felt so sorry for Fujishima. Basically he woke up one morning to find out the man he's loved for so many years is gone, and was replaced by this man who abused him in everyway, everyday. But I couldn't hate Tohru, I understood why he turned out this way. He was betrayed over and over again as a child. He didn't know how to deal with it other than through violence. To wake up one day and to find out he's been sleeping with the same man who betrayed him, has to take it's toll. Of course they hashed out their feelings and eventually got back together. Tohru became a totally different person after that. He was totally sweet to Fujishima.
I love how these two persevered and overcame all the pain they caused eachother and eventually found their peace.
