A meme I stole off of Hy_Perion, because it looked like fun.

1) What author do you own the most books by?
J.K. Rowling. The complete series plus the little ones about quidditch and magical animals.

2) What book do you own the most copies of?
None! I owned two copies of Eragon at one point, but I gave it away.

3) Did it bother you that both those questions ended with prepositions?
No, because few school teach grammar in any kind of detail anymore so I didn't notice.

4) What fictional character are you secretly in love with?
Destruction from The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. I have no idea why.

5) What book have you read the most times in your life (excluding picture books read to children; i.e., Goodnight Moon does not count)?
Jane Eyre. I adore that book.

6) What was your favorite book when you were ten years old?
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It was the book that got me addicted to reading.

7) What is the worst book you've read in the past year?
The second Twilight book. I can't even remember what it's called, because I've blocked it out so thoroughly.

8) What is the best book you've read in the past year?
Jane Eyre.

9) If you could force everyone you tagged to read one book, what would it be?
The Sandman graphic novel series. I'm pretty sure you can get it as one large book, so it counts! If not that, American Gods by Neil Gaiman.

10) Who deserves to win the next Nobel Prize for Literature?
Someone extremely intelligent, interesting and open-minded. In other words, I have no idea.

11) What book would you most like to see made into a movie?
Assuming they didn't muck it up horribly? Earthly Delights by Kerry Greenwood. A good mystery for a grey day.

12) What book would you least like to see made into a movie?
The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith. Like Twilight, only with less sparkle and more resurrection.

13) Describe your weirdest dream involving a writer, book, or literary character.
I don't think I've had one. I might have though- I rarely remember my dreams.

14) What is the most lowbrow book you've read as an adult?
Twilight.

15) What is the most difficult book you've ever read?
Sophie's World. I was about twelve at the time and it was a bit overwhelming. I really should read it again when I have the time.

16) What is the most obscure Shakespeare play you've seen?
The Taming of the Shrew. Not very obscure at all I'm afraid.

17) Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
France. It is closer to Italy.

18) Roth or Updike?
I don't know who these people are!

19) David Sedaris or Dave Eggers?
See above.

20) Shakespeare, Milton, or Chaucer?
Shakespeare.

21) Austen or Eliot?
Austen I guess. I don't know Eliot's works unless it's T.S. Eliot, which I doubt.

22) What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
Clearly it must be the people from 18), 19) and 21) that I don't recognise.

23) What is your favorite novel?
Jane Eyre. I think I would get along with Jane, if I ever met her.

24) Play?
Les Miserables. The production I saw was amazing.

25) Poem?
The Company of Lovers by Judith Wright.

26) Essay?
None.

27) Short story?
Probably one of the many by Neil Gaiman, but I can't think of anything in particular.

28) Work of nonfiction?
What's that?

29) Who is your favorite writer?
Arrgh! Hard question. Probably Neil Gaiman or Terry Pratchett.

30) Who is the most overrated writer alive today?
SMeyer.

31) What is your desert island book?
Peter Pan. It's been a while since I've read it and I'd certainly be able to concentrate!

32) And... what are you reading right now?
Dead Until Dawn by Charlaine Harris. Thought I'd see what all the fuss is about. It's pretty good so far.
