It took me forever to get to Dr. Z's office this morning. There was either construction or an accident or something on 405, so I got off at 85th figuring I'd take the back roads, but 85th is also doing construction and then I turned myself around the way I always do and all in all I walked into the office five minutes after my appointment time. Note that I'd left the house 50 min prior.
But he still saw me, and I happily showed off pictures of Buddy to him and his MA (who has had pit bulls before) and he said it was great that the exercise was helping my headaches. And in things I didn't quite expect, he did agree to increase the oxycodone for this month due to the travel. So I now have enough pills that I should get through the month without too many problems.
I'll ask Dr. S for a new scrip for the Zomig before we go to NJ, though, because if I can use that I'd rather it than the oxy, at least when I'm in situations where I don't want to be loopy and stoned (i.e. hanging with my parents or seeing friends in NJ). But six doses is not that many, so I have to be circumspect with it. The problem with the Zomig is that it works better the sooner I take it. But I'm always afraid if I take it too soon I'll be wasting a dose on something that's not really a migraine, you know? Whereas the oxycodone works regardless of type of headache.
I treated myself to MOD pizza while I was waiting for my scrip, and then came home to a dog very happy to see me. I'll take him out in an hour or so, unless he starts giving me signs he needs to go sooner.
Speaking of the dog, we cut our morning walk shorter than I had originally intended because we met the same woman and kid as yesterday, and she warned me she'd seen a coyote by the new construction down the street that didn't seem afraid of humans. Since coyotes are known to, you know, kill and eat pets, we turned around sooner than I had planned, and this afternoon we'll go the other way. I'm really glad we just fenced in the back yard; I don't think a coyote can jump it.
We also saw a delivery guy for a local dairy who gave Buddy a treat, which was really nice of him. And Buddy ate it, which was good because he's often picky about what treats he likes. (I have freeze dried salmon cubes which he likes, and at
malnpudl's suggestion we discovered he loves lamb lung treats, so we have those, and I've found some biscuits from Mud Bay he'll eat, mostly ones with peanut butter in them. If you have suggestions for other dog treats that don't involve chicken I'm all ears. He really liked the biscuits the vet gave us but they're loaded with chicken and we think he's allergic to chicken, so we don't want to give him those anymore.)
He's such a good boy. Even if I did let him into the backyard where he promptly started barking his head off at our neighbor who happened to be outside.
