Morgan came home early yesterday to be with Buddy while the fence guys finished, which was a good thing as the poor guy was more than a bit freaked. But he's loving the new yard, and we were playing fetch last night for a bit which was fun. Morgan took him to Mud Bay (which Buddy loves) and bought a Chuck-it, which is a thing that allows you to pick up and throw a ball without touching it, which is good when the ball is covered in dog spit and/or grass and dirt from the yard. Also it lets you throw it farther than I would normally be able to manage. It's pretty awesome.
The fence is not the most awesome fence ever made, but it will suffice for our needs, and it's done in a way that we can likely set up a dog run at some point on one side of the house.
Now we just need to buy and install the dog door and then convince Buddy to use it.
Morgan called me as I was heading home yesterday and asked if I was stopping anywhere I could buy tennis balls, as Buddy was already starting to destroy the one that came with the Chuck-it. I wasn't planning to, but. Uh. I stopped for gas on the way home, and was blithely in my car stopped at a red light when someone tapped on my window and scared the crap out of me. The very nice woman standing there indicated that my gas cap was off/tank open, I said thank you, and immediately turned right and pulled into a parking lot to screw on the cap and close the door. However, doing this meant I had to go around the block to get back on 85th to get to the highway. I realized as I was doing so that there was a Petco right there, so I stopped and ran in and bought six tennis balls as they were $0.99 each. So that'll be good.
I wish I'd gotten a picture of Buddy last night - he came upstairs with me after I got home and curled up on my daybed, and spent the night there. I invited him to come into the master bedroom with me when I went to bed, but he didn't move, so I turned off the light and let him sleep. Morgan found him there this morning. He likes it there. *g* He also likes generally keeping me company when I'm home, although at the moment he's sleeping on the couch downstairs. (He's apparently not a morning dog; mostly he sleeps until about 9:30, 10.)
I was not feeling well yesterday. Stomach was just generally upset and I had some ominous pain in my lower back left side that had me more than a bit paranoid I was getting another kidney stone or bladder infection. I thought it might just be my period showing up, so I didn't call anyone about it and just kind of waited it out.
I'm doing better today, but am not sure whether it was period stuff or whether my stomach was just rebelling. I guess we'll see. If it is my period, at least I'm getting my pain meds refilled today. That's one of the many obnoxious things about PCOS - my periods are both incredibly irregular and really painful when they do show up.
Need more tea.
