But I'm covering for a co-worker, so I'm working a 12 today. Bleah. Wish I wasn't, but them's the breaks and at least it means I don't have to take a sick day for being out yesterday. Right? Right.
WP 8.1 continues to amaze me with its awesomeness. Cortana is brilliant and wonderful and I don't forget things anymore because I say things like "calendar Dr. J Wednesday the 25th at 2:30pm" and she puts it into my calendar. Or I say "remind me to call the Pro Club" and she says "Okay, what time would you like to be reminded?" I've told her to remind me of things when I get home, which she has done, and yesterday I asked her the traffic to Evergreen and found out I needed to leave early due to traffic, which was helpful as otherwise I'd have been late to my appointment with Dr. S.
On top of that, 8.1 also has Word Flow keyboard, which is I think like Swype, but my admittedly-limited experience with Swype was that it didn't work very well. Word Flow has yet to get a word wrong.
There are other features I really like, such as "Action Center" which tells me all my latest notifications from email and Facebook and app updates and so on, and there are customizable aspects I like a lot, too.
The one annoyance I have discovered is that Cortana--and actually, speech recognition in general--does not work that well through Bluetooth. But I have been told that's being worked on as a known issue.
Writing is going along fairly well. I'm about 2200 words into the new chapter of WC, and am less sure I can bridge it in this chapter but maybe the next one. We'll see.
Meanwhile, I've hit Gold status for Starbucks Rewards, and when I got my drink from the barista today she asked me if I ever took my tea sweetened. I don't, but she said they have a peach green tea coming in next week that I might try at some point, especially if I can lessen the sweetener in it. It sounds kind of tasty.
Strangely, despite being here and all that, I'm in a good mood. Although I do have a bit of a headache, but that'll likely fade as the day goes on. Or I'll take something for it.
