I have done my writerly duty today and written two snippets for my wonderful sounding board/alpha reader, and she has loved them both if her use of capslock is anything to go by, so I am very, very pleased with myself. Both are set in the FF universe but one takes place long after the main story arc will conclude and the other is an interlude taking place a few chapters back, so I don't know if they'll ever see the light of AO3 posting. But I had fun writing them even if one is unabashed fluff and schmoop (it's also Christmas-themed, what did you expect?) and the other is more unabashed angst and some sort of h/c.
But it makes me happy to make other people happy, and I only have a little over three hours at work left and someone left a candy sleigh on my desk this morning when I got in. It's really rather cute and I don't want to eat it because I don't want to break it up. It's two candy canes with a kitkat on top of them and then a pyramid of Hershey's minis, all tied up in ribbon with a bow on top. I like it a lot but I don't want to break it apart and eat the chocolate!
Also I am listening to Christmas music because whatever, a lot of the good songs are written by Jews anyway and there's some good music out there and I do miss going caroling with the madrigal singers.
Right. Now back to work on WC. Wish me luck. Still no comments on FF's latest chapter but I'm blaming that on the holiday and hoping people will catch up tomorrow.
