Electioneering

Nov 04, 2008 10:30

So, it finally ends. What was perhaps the most eventful presidential campaign in recent history (in my lifetime, at least) will finally end. Some things I remember:
• Staying up to watch the Iowa caucuses, at which time I learned all I needed to know about the caucus system.
• Doing homework all evening on Super Tuesday, with the TV turned to CNN the entire time (until California reported, at least)
• The Obama rally! My most vivid memory of the election season is still my brother's friend discarding his crutches and hopping at full speed towards Key Arena.
• The caucus! Fun times.

There hasn't been too much going on around here since then (too bad for not being in a battleground state), but it's been fun. My prediction: Obama wins in a landslide (350+ electoral votes), which is delayed a few hours due to many polling places staying open late to accommodate extra voters. There is much rejoicing.
