President Who? (compassionate conservatives?)
This weekend I was down in Longview visiting my friend Scott, from Canada. I hadn't seen him for over a year since we went camping up in B.C. two summers ago. Also visiting him were my friends Barry and Sean. I used to play Dungeons and Dragons and Magic with these guys when I was in middle school and high school. It was fun to do that again and catch up with everyone. Scott is down for a few weeks getting his documents in order to apply for citizenship in Canada.
Unfortunately I didn't get today off of work. But I did make quota today, which means I get off of my trial status. Now I just have to make the weekly quota in the next month and I'll be a full staff member, which comes with a dollar pay raise. I'm starting to get into the swing of my job.
The guy I was canvassing with today, Ken, encountered a rabid Bush supporter. The guy was obviously a beligerant lunatic, and I don't think his wife was much better. They immagined K had insulted the wife and were calling him all sorts of names and threatening him. Did I mention the guy was a beligerant lunatic? Ken said that doesn't usually happen.
Most of the people I've encountered have been very nice. Even the people with no soliciting signs are usually pretty friendly. Anyway... Job good. Weekend good. More work tomorrow.
