The (Late) Night Before Christmas

Dec 21, 2010 21:58

“Luke?”

Reid walked into the new apartment he shared with his boyfriend, finding it surprisingly dark except for the blinking lights on the Christmas tree. It was Christmas Eve and Reid had worked that day, but only to make sure that he had Christmas off. Luke wasn’t particularly happy about this and made sure Reid knew it the day before.

Reid took off his jacket, his eyes adjusting to the darkness, still looking for Luke.

“Luke, where are you?” It was 11:45 PM and Luke would have been back from the Farm by now.

“Look, I know you’re upset I had to work today. But better I work today then tomorrow, right?”

The only reply Reid heard was silence.

“There’ll be more Christmas Eve dinners that we’ll get to spend together.”

More silence. Reid was starting to get worried. Luke always made himself known, even when he and Reid were mad at each other. Reid took a deep breath, his hand started tapping his leg nervously. He walked around the living room and then the kitchen, looking for any type of sign that something was wrong. He found none and then made his way to their bedroom, hesitating in front of the door.

“Luke, this is ridiculous. Just…” Reid pushed the door open and stopped. The sight before him literally took his breath away.

Luke. Naked. A red bow strategically placed on his groin.

Reid’s eyes grew twice their normal size and his mouth dropped opened. Luke, his Luke, was standing at the foot of the bed, trying not to turn the color of the bow. Reid drunk in the sight for a few more moments and then a huge laugh burst out of him, a ravenous smile forming on his lips.

“Merry Christmas Dr. Oliver.” Luke smiled, one hand on his hip, the other leaning against the bed post. He had never done something like this before and he felt terrified. And nervous. And excited. His entire body was on fire, but he wasn’t sure if it was from the blushing or being turned on. Reid was looking at him like a starving man that had just seen his first filet mignon in years.

“What’s all this?” Reid motioned to Luke while slowly making his way to the younger man.

“I just thought that I would give you one of your Christmas presents when you got home tonight.”

“You were pissed that I didn’t take the day off.”

“I was. But you’re a doctor. Stuff comes up. Plus, we’ll have all of tomorrow together, so I’m okay.” Luke cocked his eyebrows up smiled lightly, trying to give Reid his best sexy look. Reid licked his lips and looked up and down Luke’s body.

“God you’re so damn hot like this,” Reid said as reached for the bow. Luke slapped his hands away.

“No! It’s your Christmas gift.”

“It’s Christmas.”

“No, it’s not.” Luke was looking at the alarm clock sitting on their dresser and Reid turned around to check it out. 11:55 PM it read.

“It’s five minutes Luke.”

“Then I guess you’ll have to wait five minutes then.” They stared at each other, daring the other to make the first move. Reid licked his lips again, the lust already filling his eyes.

“I’m pretty sure your family is one of those that opened up one gift on Christmas Eve.”

“Nope!” Luke smile grew bigger, somehow turning Reid on more. Reid moved his eyes to look at the red bow. It screamed Christmas.

“Where did you get that from?” Reid nodded at the bow and then turned to see the time again. 11:56.

“I bought it at that, uh, sex shop in Chicago, the one we went to that weekend in October, remember?” Luke was trying his best to remain confident. He could tell by the look in Reid’s eyes that he loved it, but he was still bashful. Even after all the times Reid had told him that he was beautiful, he never quite believed it.

“Mmm.”

“I, um, had to buy a second one. The first one was too small.”

Reid barked out a laugh. He moved as close as he could to Luke, sneaking his arms around the Luke’s waist. He leaned forward and their foreheads touch.

“This is by far the best Christmas present I ever got.”

Luke gently laughed.

“I love you Luke.”

“Love you too Reid.”

They looked into each other's eyes, seeing the love beyond the lust. They forgot about the time until a beeping noise pulled them out of their trance.

“It’s my cell,” Luke said. “It’s the alarm that beeps on holidays and birthdays, things like that.”

Reid turned around again and saw that the clock said 12:00 AM.

“Merry Christmas Luke.” Reid pulled Luke closer and kissed him, slow and gentle. They parted with a loud smack.

“Merry Christmas Reid.”

“Now,” Reid began, “if you’ll excuse me for a second.” Reid removed his arms from Luke’s waist and took two steps back. He dropped to his knees and reach up to touch the red bow. He looked up into Luke’s eyes and smiled.

“I have a present to unwrap.”
