I squinted into the darkness. Not a single soul in sight.
I looked down and stared at a bug that was crawling its way to me. I bent down and flicked it away. It rolled, and then began moving towards me again.
I stared ahead of me. No one appeared.
I sighed and began picking at my dress. There was some lace on it that was making me feel itchy. And it was pink. PINK, I tell you. It’s not really a wonder to who picked it out for me.
Let’s face it, I’m bored.
And Jessica doesn’t seem like she’s coming anytime soon.
I picked myself up and kicked some pebbles away. Maybe I’ll just wait for another five minutes.
One minute passed.
A bicycle zipped past me.
Two minutes.
A flock of birds suddenly flew out of a tree nearby. Had they been sitting there this whole time?
Three minutes perhaps?
The wind blew, waving my dress. I held it down just in case it decides to blow some more.
Four.
A group of students suddenly filed out a classroom, chattering and laughing. I scanned the crowd of people. A night class, I thought. My eyes then spotted a certain girl talking to her friends. I started walking fast, determined not to lose her.
“Hey.”
Jessica turned and saw me. “Eunhyuk-sshi.” She looked surprised. Her friends all looked at me. More like my outfit. They probably think I’m psycho, wearing this.
“Um…” I tried to think of a good explanation. “Uh, weren’t we supposed to meet at six? You know… for the movies…” I asked, trying not to sound to accusing.
She frowned. “Seohyunnie and Yoona didn’t tell you?”
“What?”
“I just found out that I had an extra night class, so I called them to cancel. I thought they might have told you.” Her eyes widened dramatically. “Were you waiting this whole time? Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry…”
“No, no, it’s ok,” I mumbled, trying not to make her feel distressed. “These things happen all the time, don’t worry.”
“Really, please forgive me,” Jessica smiled cutely. “Come on, let’s go to the dorms. Bye girls.” She waved to the other girls and began walking to the dorms. As I walked past them, I heard a few remarks.
“She’s tall.”
“Hulking, more like.”
“Such a geek.” They giggled softly as they followed the other students.
Jessica was already walking ahead of me, but I didn’t bother to catch up to her. I stared down my shoes while I walked. Was my height really that noticeable? I slouched down a little. I sighed and started running to Jessica.
Being a girl doesn’t seem that simple anymore.

The next morning when I woke up, I saw that Sungmin had sent me a text telling to meet him and Kyu for breakfast. I got out some clothes and went into the bathroom to change.
When I was about to leave, I looked over at Jessica, still sleeping soundly. Somehow, I was still pissed about last night, so I decided to go without leaving her a note, even though she had told me to. She probably feels guilty about last night. Haha, I’m being evil…..Kyu must be influencing me….
I walked slowly, enjoying the fresh autumn air. Really, it’s a nice season, leaves turning brown and the holidays coming in.
“Yah, Hyuk! Come here!” Minnie waved me over to where he and Kyu were standing. I walked on to them smiling.
“Good morning,” I replied. We began walking towards the food area.
“How was your girls’ night out?” Sungmin grinned.
“It was canceled,” I answered coolly.
“Huh?” He stared at me. “Why?”
“Hyukjae looks pissed off,” Kyuhyun remarked.
“Cause of a certain person,” I scowled.
Kyu was quiet for a moment before he spoke. “Was it Jessica?”
“What did she do?” Sungmin asked quickly. “Embarrassed you? Ditched you?”
I shook my head. “It was none of that.” I told them about the previous night.
They both stopped walking. Kyuhyun cursed under his breath. “No one, not a single person, can do that to my hyung.”
“Nice that you call me your hyung now,” I rolled my eyes.
Sungmin frowned. “You must have been cold waiting for her. Aish, what was she thinking? She really isn’t up to any good…”
“What?” I raised my eyebrow.
“Nothing,” Sungmin said quickly. He and Kyu exchanged glances.
“It’s complicated…. We’ll just tell you next time,” said Minnie.
“Why not now?” I asked.
“Cause Siwonnie is coming,” Kyu pointed out clearly.
“Huh?” I turned and sure enough, Siwon was walking towards us. He raised his hand in greeting and smiled when he saw me.
“Hey, Eunhyuk. Hi Sungmin hyung and Kyuhyun.”
“Wonnie!” Sungmin cheerfully hugged him. Kyu pulled him back, holding Sungmin protectively. Minnie ended up patting him on the back.
“How are things going, Siwon?” I asked, smiling.
“Great. I got a lead role in a play,” he grinned.
“Really?? Wow, I should go watch you some time,” I exclaimed, making him blush deeply.
He cleared his throat. “Want to go eat, Sungmin hyung?”
“Yup! In fact we were just going now,” Minnie said, finishing his short make-out session with Kyu. “Let’s go!” He started pulling Kyu’s hand and they began to lead the way.
Siwon glanced at me. “Come on, Hyuk.” He smiled, showing his dimples.
I grinned. “Sure.” We began walking behind Kyumin and had our usual conversation of random things.
Casually placing an arm around my shoulder, Siwon and I started following the two of them.
* * *
“Bwahaha, and the next thing you know, Eunhyuk spitted out all her strawberry milk! Oh man, you should have seen the teacher’s face when that happened,” laughed Sungmin.
“And our Eunhyuk got her first detention. Hey, noona? What was it for again? Misconduct in the cafeteria and bad behavior in front of other students?” Kyuhyun asked, smirking.
Siwon chuckled. “Eunhyuk doesn’t seem like a troublemaker though.”
“Well, appearances can deceive you,” Sungmin said, with him and Kyu smirking at each other.
Oh really. Stop bringing up stories about me as your topics of conversation.
I rolled my eyes. “Like the both of you are model students.”
The two of them laughed. Let’s just say Kyumin isn’t the “cute and innocent” couple they really are.
Kyu glanced at the clock tower in the distance. “Hey, English is about to start soon,” he announced.
Sungmin stood up and stretched. “It was supposed to be a breakfast, but somehow lunch passed too.” He smiled at Siwon, who was also getting up. “What are you going to do now, Siwon? The three of us have English together.”
He shrugged. “I guess I’ll go to the theater and practice my acting. Bye guys.” Siwon gave me a special wave and walked off first.
We looked at each other, stealing side glances. Sungmin stared at me. I stared at Kyu. Kyu showed off his trademark smirk.
“What?” I asked.
“Who throws away the trash?” Sungmin asked. He made this wiggling move with his eyebrows. Kyu gave me an evil smile.
The both of them stood up at the same time. I raised my eyebrow.
“Hyukjae hyung will throw the trash away right?” Kyu asked sweetly. He smiled innocently at me. “Thank you hyung!”
Then they ditched.
“What the he…. YAH, YOU MORONS, GET BACK HERE!” I roared. Other onlookers looked weirdly at me. I ruffled my hair in frustration.
“Aish, those two…. can they even be called my friends?” I muttered to myself as I cleared the food wrappings and empty drinks away, dumping them into a random trash can.
I picked up my backpack and began walking to my English class. “Geez, going to that extent just to make me throw the trash away… they didn’t have to act like that….” I spoke to myself.
I was too absorbed into my thoughts, trying to thinks of ways to get revenge, that I didn’t really pay attention to my surroundings. Well, most people don’t anyways.
When I finally saw my classroom, I spotted Sungmin and Kyu waiting outside. Well, I guess they were just playing around… let’s forgive them this time…
Just as I was about to run over, a hand grabbed me and covered my mouth.
A/N: oooooohhhhh…… the suspense…….. XD it was a fail ending lol don’t mind me
And movies-with-Jessica didn’t happen cause I felt it was safer for Hyukkie to NOT go at all….. =P but as a hint-from-the-author, this “cancellation” was absolutely not “coincidental” at all… ^^
Sorry that there was barely any Eunhae interaction (er, cross that, NONE actually) but next chapter, there will be! =] promise! /sticks out pinky finger
