Honey, I'm home.
So it's been quite awhile since my last update. Part of the reason I left was the passing of a dear friend. It's hard to get close to someone and then lose them. It makes you want to kind of disassociate yourself with the things that remind you of them. So I shied away from LJ and Myspace.
But I have come back. This used to be a really fun outlet for me. I kind of need it after all.
So what's new with Devin?
Well I am still living in Middleburg. But Jason and I have pretty much reconciled. The only reason we aren't living together yet is lack of funds. But we have set a wedding date! October 15th 2011. In the next few months my entries will probably be pretty planning centric. I'm a bit nervous about the whole deal. I tend to get really stressed out and obsessed when it comes to event planning. Case in point our giant Halloween bash. I turned into a bit of a drama queen. It made the party come together really nicely but my family got pretty annoyed with me in the process. (heh)
We have chosen our venue already. It was a no brainer really. The Florida Aquarium in Tampa. We have both been members there for about 6 years and go once or twice a month. So it's a bit like a second home. I looked at price points already and it's not as bad as I thought it would be.
The most stressful part of the planning aspect for me is Jason's lack of guests. Right now I can think of 50 people off the top of my head that I need to invite. And this is just family. He has such a tiny family. Even when he stretches his list he can only think of like 8 people to invite. So needless to say the sides will be completely unbalanced. And I feel bad about it. He's not the type of person who keeps in touch with old friends or spends a lot of time with the family he does have. I know it will be a lovely wedding regardless.
I'm going to NY next week. I am extremely excited! Last year I went for Gabby's wedding. It was a lot of fun but there was very little down time. This time around there will be more quality time with my girls. Also time for some ritual work with Michelle. She's the only one that I can really confide in when it comes to my spiritual path. It's always really soul nourishing when we're together. And that area is the home of my initial awakening so I always feel recharged when I'm there.
So that's all for today. I will try my best to make this a daily thing. A lot has happened or is happening so it's hard to sum it all up in one entry.
