Update of KNOWLEDGE!

Feb 27, 2008 12:00

Apparently, the earthquake was actually a 5.3 on the Richter scale. There were reports of some damage, and one kid relatively near here got injured by a falling chimney. It's the talk of the town around here, but people in other countries don't seem too bothered.

Anyway, here's my story!

I was screwing around on the internet and looked down to see that it was already 12:48. I was thinking, "Jeez, we should go to bed soon" when Tony walked in with tea. So, we sat down with our teas instead. A few minutes later, we started to feel a small tremor. We looked at each other, and I said "What is that?" Immediately, the tremor got more violent. The whole house was shaking, the tea spilled all over the place and stuff started falling off the shelf. I yelled "What the hell is that?!?" It stopped in about 8-10 seconds, and I asked, "Do they have earthquakes in England??" (You can tell I'm the kind to not shut up during a disaster.) Tony said "Come on," and we grabbed our coats and ran outside. There were a few people milling about the streets, and we asked a girl who was walking down if she had felt it. She said, "What, the earthquake?" and described how they were standing outside and all the houses were shaking. Afterwards, we went back in to check what had happened and if anyone else had felt it. We were up another hour calling people and looking up reports on the internet. I remember being all shaky and jangly, and my adrenalin didn't die down until long after we went to bed.

Intense!
