the only song that's harder on RockBand than it is in real life
Hi hi hi, flist! I'm having a pretty shiny day today, so I thought I'd post about all the things that are making me happy. (I know I have a lot of comments from yesterday's post to answer, and I will get on to that later- probs tomorrow actually. It's really interesting reading other people's opinions of the whole thing!).
So. Here is a list of awesomeness:
1. Not having to get out of bed until noon. Now, I mean, I wasn't asleep until then because my sleeping is not so regular of late, but I was wrapped up in my duvet until noon! This is a most awesome way to start the day, especially because I was listening to FAD on my iPod all morning.
2. The only reason I left the house was to meet a work colleague for lunch. We went to an Italian place that's okay and I'm kinda glad my friend is American and has no qualms about being all 'uh, no, not acceptable' whereas the tiny bit of Britishness in me is all meek and 'yes, of course that's fine' even when it isn't. But the food was good and we bitched about some work stuff which is always good to get out.
3. We went for a walk around the botanical gardens, which was lovely despite how freaking cold it was today. There was hardly anyone around, and we just wandered, all bundled up snug and warm.
4. Shopping was done.
DVDs because, uh, I have a problem whenever I go into the music shop here cos things are so cheap! Anyways, that's not the awesome thing. If you're thinking 'hey, those look like dino shaped cookie cutters' then you are right! I AM SO EXCITED TO USE THEM.
'RAWR' says T-Rex. Make me into a cookie and eat me! But until you do, I'm going to snuggle with LittleFoot here!'
'What about me?' asks Cera.
'Don't worry, I will make you into cookies tomorrow and eat you too' says I.
...LOOK IDK THEY JUST MADE ME REALLY HAPPY OKAY? THEY WERE REALLY CHEAP (£1.50 per cutter is cheap, right? RIGHT?)
5. I came home and started my latest craft project which is either going to be really, really awesome or really, really crappy. People who I have told about it seem to think it isn't a totally sucky idea, so we will see how it goes, I think. I'm going to do a lot more on it tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to it.
6. I got to talk to my bff on the phone for over an hour and it was so good. I'm not much of a phone talker- I do a lot of nodding and gesturing when I talk which obviously doesn't carry over the phone and so I always feel really awkward, but I did not at all and time went too quickly and I'm just glad I get to see her real soon because it's been far too long. Stupid distance.
7. I went for dinner at the noodle cafe with lokte and we discussed a wide range of subjects- not just bandom related! Perhaps because we were in a public place, but still! It was a lot of fun and we got to talk about some fic too which was great.
8. We came back to mine and played Rockband and Paranoid on the guitar on medium kicked my ass. We switched between drums and guitar which was cool and it was so much fun to get to play it with someone (none of my other friends here will play because they think it's lame). Also I played bass on Dead on Arrival (again on medium) and holy shit, was it more difficult than I expected it to be. PWentz, I salute you (or, you know, my subject line, as said by lokte).
9. Tomorrow (well, today now) is Sunday and I only have to go into lab for half an hour or so. So I am going to get stuff to make cookies with and do that and do my crafy thing and watch some DVDs and generally enjoy my weekend a whole lot. \o/
10. The other day, when I was feeling down, anansigirltoo showed me this video of Brendon that if you haven't watched, you really should.
11. I hate having uneven numbers on a list but I have to say, you guys are all really awesome, and so are worth the unevenness. I love getting to read about your lives on a daily basis and emailing and chatting with some of you. If anyone else ever wants to email or chat with me, it'll always make me grin. I'm justaferriswheel on aim and its also my new, fwdd to my regular email account, gmail name too, so add an @gmail to that if you ever feel like sending me an email.
