Calling All Geeks, Nerds, and Lovers of Fantasy
The deadline for International Conference for the Fantastic in the Arts is tomorrow November 30.
The conference is March 15-19 in Fort Lauderdale and is always a blast.
It is definitely an academic conference and not a con, but has more than its fair share of happily geeky semi-academic people. There are always rousing and riotous panels on fan fiction, horror, science fiction, kids lit and fantasy.
There are also traditionally nontraditional evening activities (a science fiction author cabaret, authors and academics reading "Smut and Nothing But," a late night get-together for vampire aficionados).
The people there are smart, the papers are interesting, and it is probably the most fun of all the conferences in the field.
So send something in already!
