Ah ha. As it turns out, my "with distinction" rank means that I, as a graduate student, made a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or above. (I hate numbers, but since I've prior written of my grade obsession I'll admit that I have a 3.925.) That is the only recognition I get as a grad student.
