Project Decompress, dispatch 2

Morning three at my mom's house in Huntsville, and it started with me crying and not being able to drag myself out of bed for an hour. I finally pulled it together for a run, then Mom and I went to "See Rock City," as the red barn and bird house signs advertise. It was lovely, despite the overt tourism and piped tranquil soundtrack coming from speakers hidden among the rocks and trees. The weather was perfect for taking in the legendary view; from the top of that mountain you can see seven states. After that we had lunch and did a little vintage clothes shopping; I scored a "Zac Morris has a posse" shirt, which I will wear among the pretentious Birmingham hipsters at Bottletree.

But god am I in misery. Twelve more days of this... It's not that I can't be away from L or that I don't want to be here. No, it's the unknowing. It's the vacation under duress. Most of all, it's that someone I love is hurting and there's not a damn thing I can do about it but wait, from a distance.
