Well well well... In addition to the snowdump I mentioned in my last post, it snowed off and on, and inch or so, pretty much every day for the last week. I became a shoveling queen. Seriously, I've got that shit down to a science and art now. Last night it finally rained, thus washing away some of the sheer volume of snow on the ground. Good thing too, because I don't want to drive the giant truck all the way to Detroit tomorrow when I pick up L at the airport. I'm looking forward to taking the car out for a spin now that I can get it off the property--it's much more manageable (though I do enjoy the double takes when little ol' me hops out of the big ol' truck).
Speaking of L... his trip to NYC was fairly useless and a waste of time (two days of filming for 10 days of being there? bah). And then he broke his hand. I wish I could say it was a daring escape from a hand-munching robot or some such, but he tripped walking up some stairs and snapped the metacarpal under his right ring finger. He went to the hospital the next morning and had surgery that day. I was rather upset not to be there for him, to say the least. I am very excited for him to come home and recover, but I've got to admit: I was also looking forward to him taking some of the farm work load off of me. No such luck... Ah well, it's only a month or so. And it's not like we can plant anything in March; it's just another month of waiting, planning, and shoveling. In closing, here's a little perspective convo we had on the subject:
L: Aww man, I can't use my right hand for a MONTH.
K: I can't use my left ear FOREVER.
