Man, it was no small feat cleaning and organizing all that needed to be dealt with today. You know how paper just piles up? First you stack it, then you stash it, but eventually it rages out of control. Well I tamed the paper beast today and must have recycled 2+ lbs. of it. In the midst of it all I found a volunteer application for the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service that I printed out well over a year ago, so I filled it out. No more procrastinating. I hope I get to work with art in some way, but really, wherever they need me is fine (so long as it's not office work--I do enough of that).
Then there was laundry--lots of it. It was made especially annoying due to a rug. Rugs never wash all the way on the first go, and they take forever to dry. Grah. But that's done and everything is folded and in its place. Clean sheets on the bed will be my reward tonight. Mmm, yes.
And food prep., to boot. I made two salads for lunches at work while I chopped the veggies for my breakfast burrito, then dealt with the left-overs and dishes. And the stove. And the trash. And the recycling. Whew!
Shaun of the Dead entertained me while I worked, as did various pieces of music. Until I get that clone or robot, I'll just have to be satisfied with a job well done, no matter how much of my weekend it eats.
