Yesterday PM and I met up after he got off of work in order to go look at an apartment. 2 bed, hw floors, kind of not close to a train station but also central to several... The asshole set up the "open house" between 6:15 and 6:45. When we arrived there were already two couples and a single guys waiting around (this is before 6:15). Being me, I said: "Sure are a lot of white people here." We waited. And waited. Did I mention it was raining? Two more couples showed up. One left. Then another. What's sad is that this fucker can get away with whatever he wants because he has the apt. building and we don't.
One of the hipsters called the guy, who said he was "on his way." PM left a message to the effect "there's 20 people waiting for you in the rain, PAL." At 6:35 we started to walk away, but then PM got the idea that we should wait around to chew the guy out. I said I wouldn't *mind* slashing a tire or two, if I *happened* to catch what he was driving. A couple minutes later the fucker finally showed up. Big white Escalade, little tiny guy (insert compensation joke here), yapping on his phone. PM asked, "Hey, you showing the apartment?" The guy nods and walks towards the place. Again, PM says "Hey!" Asshole turned around... PM gave him the finger and said, "Thanks a lot, buddy. You're a real fucking asshole." "A douchbag!" I added. The guy was bewildered. We walked away. I looked back to see if he's gone inside yet (the tires were calling me, I really wanted to pop one) and he was still staring at us--his phone still attached to his stupid head. So no tires, but I gave him the finger again, just in case he missed it.
Hate it, but my old landlords (the breeders) were probably the best I'll ever know in NYC (they lived in the building, that's why). This town is so fucking wrong sometimes. Unless you're loaded it's just par for the course to be treated like trash in all things housing-related. I'm honestly considering NJ, but haven't talked it over with PM yet. I don't think he's game b/c his job is in South Queens...
apt.
