Still waiting... for some good NEWS
If I'm not mistaken, the TegoMass duo will be having a series of concert towards the end of the year, right? (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but that's what I heard from a few days ago).
For some, this is good news; for others, it isn't. Personally, at first, I don't know how to react. I felt various feelings when I heard this from a friend of mine, who happens to be a NEWS fan as well.
Well, this is good news. It's nice to know that the TegoMass duo will be having another series of concerts, which means that they are doing a good job and all. However, at the end of the day, I can't help but somehow get disappointed because I know (well, not that I really know but... whatever), that these series of concerts for TegoMass would mean... no NEWS activities for the mean time. As some of you may have known, NEWS' last activity as a group was when they released Fighting Man last fall (November 2010). It's already August now. Nine months have already passed since their last group activity and we, fans, miss the six of them so much.
For the past few months, the six of them have been busy doing solo/ duo activities (i.e. Yamapi's Asian Tour, Ryo with Kanjani8, TegoMass, Koyama with his radio show and Shige with his drama). It's understandable, within the first few months of their "hiatus", why NEWS won't be able to do group activities. It's nothing new to NEWS fans and I can tell that some are already used to it. However, as a fan, I was actually expecting that after Yamapi's Asian Tour, the six of them would be able to go back together as a group and do activities together. I was mistaken , though. Yamapi's tour has ended last May and yet, no signs of activities for the six of them. Ryo is still busy with Kanjani8 (if I'm not mistaken) and he did back- to- back dramas. Koyama, still, is with his radio show, while Shige got an on- going drama, too, this summer. With all these activities, I was pretty sure that they would all be busy until fall, probably. So I was expecting that they would probably do an end of the year concert tour (like NWPD). However, with this news of TegoMass doing a series of concerts, I doubt it if my wishes would come true.
I don't want to blame Yamapi for his solo activities. I don't want to blame Kanjani8 for taking Ryo from NEWS. I don't want to blame Koyama's hosting jobs. I don't want to blame Shige's drama and stage plays. And I don't want to blame TegoMass, either. I know it's not their fault that NEWS don't get to do activities as a group. At times, I just think that their schedules just don't coincide and just wish that someday, somehow, they'll all get free time to get back together again... together on one stage again. I don't want to blame any of them because I know it's not their fault. Also, I know (as well as the other fans), that the six of them miss each other too. I feel that they'd want to get back together again and perform on one stage again... with the six of them singing and dancing and wearing their respective colors- red, blue, pink, yellow, violet and green.
It's not the first time that NEWS fans have waited for them like this. Some things happened in the past that they were on hiatus for a year. No NEWS concert was held last 2009... but still... despite their "hiatus", fans waited for them to come back onstage. So now, despite their non- group activities, I know NEWS fans are still waiting. I am waiting. We are waiting... and we'll keep on waiting for some good NEWS. :)
