Ai-kon 2009
Well it's the Monday after Ai-kon and I've just woken up from the sleep I needed to catch up on lol. And so I figured while I edit pictures (96 of them) I'll make a post with some of them later on. For now I'm just gonna make a big long detailed post about Ai-kon which I'll be xposting to my other LJ as well.
So without much further ado:
Friday:
Friday was as haphazard as always. Sarah, Jen, and I scrambled with last minute costume details until the last minute when my grandfather picked us up and we dashed off to The Delta where we were staying all weekend. Well Jen wasn't staying with us but we were letting her chill in our room when she wanted so close enough lol.
We managed to get an early check in, showered, and got ready to head down to the con where we got into the vendor's room where we were stationed for a great deal of the con (but we weren't chained to the table which was good ^^) After wearing a yukata for a while I went upstairs and changed because it was very warm and I wasn't a fan of my legs showing too much when I sat down for too long. (I like crossing my legs so sue me xD)
Took some photos, and when it came time for dinner we found out we couldn't book a table after 8:30 so instead of going to Ichiban we went to Earl's for dinner. It was pretty good. Expensive but Ichiban would have been expensive as well so it's not like I wasn't prepared for it. After a nice dinner we went back to our hotel and finished sewing a few last minute buttons onto my coat (lol told you, last minute costume prep) and went to bed around 2am. Fairly late compared to what we wanted but oh well.
Saturday:
Woke up nice and early around 9:30 so we got a decent amount of sleep. After a shower and some fast dressing into costume we appeared as Zechs and Treize at the Sakura Den Vendor's table. We were photomolested many times so I'm trying to hunt down a few photos but so far I've only found one lol. I promise we'll get some photos later.
We signed up for cosplay after walking around for a bit. We visited the artist's room, caught a bit of the Digimon movie, and took some photos of cosplayers here and there. I was really pleased to see such a variety in the cosplay this year. Apparently there was a lot of Bleach cosplayers but I didn't see as many as people told me there were. Naruto was waaaaay down (Thankfully) and Death note was as well. So it was great to see more animes breaking into the cosplay again. There was even another Zechs but I didn't get a photo sadly.
After taking a walk to the mall to visit a few of Sarah's friends with a few dolls we headed back, prepped for the cosplay contest, and ran down to the cosplay contest. And of course we had to sit in the back, fretting and worrying over our skit, trying to make sure we remembered everything and so on we got up in line when it was our turn. (#59/72) We helped Renki by tossing clothes on after her skit XD it was awesome! She should have won. Too funny. I wish I had that one on tape lol.
We got up, they put on the wrong music (Wrong CD even @.@) and we went through our skit when we finally got it. Unfortunately we went through it waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fast and we ended up missing out a line at the end and I forgot to take my mask off. (Ah well right?). Despite our problems we won best skit and it turned out really well in the end of it all.
After the cosplay contest we went back to the hotel room, changed into our swimsuits, and went for a well desereved swim. We got back to the room around 10 and got ready for the dance (And by that I meant cracking a ton of glowsticks and missing the fog machine mishap (thankfully) and stuck around right till 2. (And yeah I'm still sore from that XD) After the dance we sat around and watched some crazies play Truth or Dare before heading back to the hotel and ordering pizza.
After a bit we headed back up to the room and tried to sneak in without waking up snightmoon who was already in bed but I glowed a little too much xD. So Me, her, gwendolinh , Sarah, and
carrot_top_237 had pizza until 4am xD. When we finally crashed it was hard but we somehow got up early the next day for what we needed to do.
Sunday:
Painful, tired, and so worth it. We chilled at the table for a bit, wandered about, and enjoyed the last day of the con. I took a few more photos, and just relaxed a bit. Did some more shopping bought some stuff, It was really good. ^^ Went home after checking out of the hotel and tried to do a bit of unpacking and cleaning up but it was mostly *EXPLODE!*
After that I headed to the Forks to had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory with the Ai-kon Staff, Volunteers, and guests and so on which was pretty awesome. I shockingly ate all my pasta (which I never do o.O!) and made it home for like...after 11 haha! When I got back I went online for a bit after another failed attempt to clean up again and I passed out around midnight till 3, woke up, cleaned off the bed and fell back to sleep until 6pm Monday XD
So that was pretty much it. I'll be posting photos later when I've finished resizing and uploading and so on. If anyone got photos of me as Zechs and Sarah as Treize I'd love to get them from you. Thanks muchly!
Now I'm off to eat something cause I haven't eaten anything properly all day lol! Ciao~!
