New Year, new beginnings

Well it's three days in to a new year.
I always think resolutions are kind of silly, and I don't keep up with them, but they are usually the things I've been meaning to change all along. This year they are:

Ride my horse at least two times a week, visiting three times a week.
Be more proactive with chores and cleaning.
Save more, spend less.
Be active and keep an eye on my figure. Not my weight.

We are back from California. We actually got to go into San fransisco yesterday afternoon. Scott and I rode BART into the city, realized that we had been directed to get off way to early and bought more fare so we could continue farther in. We stopped in the visitors center becuase the directions we got were... off. We got a map and bought a MUNI pass. Then we rode one of the cable cars to the Fisherman's Wharf and went to go se sea lions, or as I eventually started calling them: ourt-ourghts. Sea lions are the best thing ever about california. I could go just for them. We walked up to telegraph hill, but there were no parrots and lots of hills. We did get a great view of the bridge and Lombard street (which looks like this: \/\/\/^---). Scott used one of the 25 cent toilets on the walk from TH to Ghiardelli square. Once at Ghardelli Square we got a cookie botom sundae and dug in. Then we looked at the chocolate sauce making part of the shop and bought chocolates/ sauce for our family( I forgot I had the sauce and it was confiscated by the SFO airport security. Ooops. I bet one of them kept it and is eating it as I type.) Then we tried to go shopping but most of the stores were closed for the holidays so we decided to get dinner. We ended up walking back to pier 39. We went through the Boudin Bakery though and vowed to return on the walk bakc and get bread. We ate at Neptune's Palace, which was quite tasty. We went back to boudins and I got a sourdogh crab orderd to be sent to my mom. I got us the last turtle and the cashier threw in a free loaf of bread because they were closing. Then we walked back to the cable cars by Ghiardelli Square and rode them back to the BART station.
All in all: Good trip. Even if the majority was in a FREEZING cold hazardous materials shipping warehouse in San Mateo.

Traveling back today was eh. I realized once we got home and I started some laundry I left a shirt at Grigory's house. I'm sad about that. I liked that shirt and want it back. We'll see if that happens.

The pets are happy to see us. Chuck looks slimmer. I'm not sure if that's becuase we went away and now after not seeing him for a while we can tell the difference or becuase he really is slimmer. We don't have a scale in the house. Minerva seems a little bigger than I remember and Cricket was the usual upon our return from a trip; cranky. Toki looks fat and sassy, but still has some shed on him. Poor guy. I will thaw him out some dinner tomorrow to keep him looking fat and sassy.
I will go see Badger tomorrow. (for the first time since paying december's board, WTF. See resolution 2007-1 above)

Today's good thing: Coming home. There's nothing like it. I can't wait to sleep in my own bed again!
