the beauty of life anonymous February 12 2007, 01:05:56 UTC
The beauty of life is sometimes very hard to see. It sometimes will pop right out infront of you, like in a relationship with a friend, a romance, a bond with a family member... but sometimes we miss the beauty of those things when ungliness shows, like the falling out with a friend, a break up, or a death. The important thing to do is not focus on the ugly, but look at how you feel about the beautiful. The ugly exists, I think, to make us see what is beautiful. For example, all that is ugly in your life right now might just be there so you can reflect on the beauty of your time with your Grandma. Like how she is the one who raised you, who made you the amazingly wonderful, perfect man you are today. Instead of allowing negative flashbacks of the time at the hospital to keep you up, remember holidays, conversations, and lessons she taught you. Those great times should be what keeps you awake at night. As for difficulties with friends, the true ones sometimes push you back into reality so they can help you survive it. When you leave reality, you leave your friends. Staying in reality means you keep them with you at all times... which is exactly where they want to be. When they point out your faults at the moment, it's so you can continue being the person they know you are, and the person they love. Keep in mind though, this applies to TRUE FRIENDS. Which leads me to relationships. My wise all knowing mother once told me the person you end up with is a combination of everything GOOD you have been with. The good being the beautiful. As much as break ups hurt, by keeping the beautiful with you, you will find someone better-- someone who may be similar, but does a couple things better then the guy before.

As hard as things get, just remeber all that you have been through, and all the beautiful things that have touched you thus far in life. And when you feel the ugly sinking in, just think about how much more beautiful there is to see in life. It's there, people just need to look for it, and continue appreciating it. I know you see it because it's apparent in your photography projects.

Your one of the greatest people I know. And I will forever be thankful to SBX bookstore and Women's Studies for introducing me to such an outstanding person. A person who I can honestly say has made my life better. A person who is by far one of the most beautiful things in my life, and I cant wait to see more beauty with you. Love you Chris!! xoxo
