I had a really great day today: Got up, went shopping with Mom (my quest for galoshes continues, but I tried on a pair I liked today, so maybe I'll order them online in something that's NOT neon pink), bought a rain barrel for my yard, and found avocados on sale, so I now have three of them in my fridge. Even visited a rival library to pick up my next audio book.
On the down side, my hot water heater seems to be on its last leg. I've started running out of hot water about three minutes into my shower, even first thing in the morning, when the tank has had all night to fill. This means I have learned to take really fast showers, but this situation is clearly not ideal. My current hot water heater dates from 1989, which apparently makes it the great grandmother of all hot water heaters. So I need a new one, and that's not cheap. Since I'm technically renting the house from my mom, she's agreed to split the cost with me. Right now, it's close to $1000 total, though I'm willing to bet we can find a better deal. Will research at work tomorrow and see what I can find out.
