What is it with death and my birthday? Three years ago, Timothy McVeigh was executed on my birthday; yesterday was President Reagan's funeral and burial.
Also, what is it with the Twins losing big time on my birthday? Two years ago when I went to a game with friends, they were shut out by the Braves. Yesterday, I saw they lost to the Philles 11-6.
Today, however, I had a birthday celebration with my family, my mom got really good seats to the Twins game, and they whomped the Philles 6-1. It was awesome. The guys sitting in the row right behind us caught a foul ball, and my mom might have gotten it if she was aggressive. And the Phillies' coach got ejected, and my dad got a picture of it (we had prime viewing of the "argument"). Everyone was whooping really hard when that happened, which was hilarious.
For me, however, the "highlight" of the game was getting a Mike's Hard Lemonade, since I'm now legal. I wanted to try one since it wasn't included in the bottle pack Keith got me for my birthday. It's kinda funny because I learned that I drink alcohol faster than my boyfriend....I polished off the bottle in one full inning (for him, it would be good luck finishing half the bottle over the course of the whole game!). But it's not just alcohol, he drinks any kind of beverage slower than me. Didn't feel any affect from it, which I have wondered about cuz I'm so small. But I think I'm done on the buying alcohol at sporting events, because it's ridiculously expensive. $6 for one stupid bottle? But hey, it was my birthday celebration, and I'm newly legal, so it was worth it this once.
My uncle who lives in Maine sent me an e-birthday card from JackDaniels.com. I laughed really hard; my mom rolled her eyes when I showed it to her.
I'm singing in church tomorrow so I should probably go to bed now.
