I've been trying to get a post up about what plants I've been playing with, as
skanky_smurf put it to me the other day, and this post is close to how I answered her. These are just the plants up on the back deck in pots. The garden itself is full of so many different plants I could barely begin, and the front yard's same same but different.
...but it's taking forever, so I'll just tell ya... tomato seedlings (Black Krim, Black Cherry and Grosse Lisse), Giant Italian Parsley, Carrots (Scarlet Nantes), Mint (Lemon, Chocolate and Apple)... and that's it for food. (T's growing more substantial vegies in case bees die out and food production ends. Thank God for paranoia, reality, and bio-ecological uncertainty, especially if it means we have tasty vegies to harvest soon!) :D Other plants in pots include: Geraniums (3 types but I can't name them), Begonias (red ones, pink-white ones), Johnny-Jump-Ups (a small mid-height ground cover of tiny tri-coloured violas - native to Oz, a friend suggested? Nope. Just checked. Spanish, I believe.), three nameless (to me) succulents, String of Hearts, a Conifer, another succulent, a variegated spider plant, some lush green ribbony thing, a little tree thing, two zebra-striped cacti, and two coleus-es (red-leaved and variegated green/red/purple with a tall mauve flower). It's not as busy here as it sounds but it's fun! Oh, I forgot the Devil's Ivy, Aloe Vera 'ow's it gahhhn, this umbrella succulent thing, and a prickly dark cousin to Aloe Vera that nobody likes but meeee. I have pics of all this...
Hey, Happy First Day of SUMMER, Aussies!!
