Hi Fic Writers...um...Thanks!

I've not had a very good Bank Holiday Weekend. I spent one day crying my little eyes out. You know when you cry so much that you think you can't possibly cry anymore, and then you start again? Yeah I had a day like that. Nothing awful happened or anything, like illness or death, I was just being a silly little sausage about something ( Read more... )

Hello. I hope you feel better and things improve for you after your rough few days. :( *hugs*

Thank you for your thoughtful review on my fic. It made my day and I really appreciate it. :)

I'm reading a Paperlegends fic now that is well-written, and a page-turner, I suppose, but it's not a happy, light fic. I don't know if it'll have a happy ending or not, but it's not much of a "cheering up" fic despite how well written it is. But it looks like you've gotten quite a lot of recs from xthursdaynextx already. Those should last you a while. ;)

I have got myself a little bit more sorted out now, thank you. Trying to look at all the good things rather than fixating on all the negative things and everything that goes wrong.

I'm glad you liked the review! I was worried that it seemed a bit long winded. I start off only meaning to write something like 'Awesome fic', but then I get carried away.

Yeah the recs from xthursdaynextx should last me a while, but if you come across anything good feel free to add it to the list! I'll hopefully get through them all eventually.

This is woefully late. Sorry about that. I'm glad things are better for you. I hope it continues that way.

Considering I get long-winded myself more often than not, I didn't mind at all. I liked reading the review, and I appreciate you taking the time to write it.

I hope you enjoy reading them. There's an e-book I enjoyed that deals with a twist on Arthurian legend. I'm not big on Arthur/Lancelot, but this story sold me on the ship. Although the story is not for Guinevere fans at all. ;) It's Lancelot and the Wolf by Sarah Luddington. You can get it for free on Kindle...there are sequels but you have to pay for them. Haven't read the sequels yet but I so want to...the price isn't too bad. You can get the paperback version if you want since I can't remember if you have a Kindle or not. I think you can purchase the free digital version without having an e-reader, and you can just read it online. :)

Don't worry, I'm woefully late too!

I don't have a Kindle, but I'm starting to really want one. It's strange, because I'm quite old fashioned and I like having an actual bit of paper or book to read off of, but I've been seriously considering buying one as a birthday/christmas present to myself. It would be especially good for reading stuff that's not in print, from internet etc. My phone is too small and my computer too large, so I need something in between.

I do admit I was uncertain about the Kindle at first, but then I really found it useful for reading long fics that I don't want to sit at my laptop and read. Not to mention with the Internet, I'm so distracted it take forever for me to read a long fic unless the story is so good I can't stop reading (unfortunately this doesn't happen a lot). I've found I've had more success reading the long Paperlegends fics off my Kindle because I can keep focusing on just immersing myself in the story and that's it. Also, the Kindle is more portable than my laptop...definitely lighter at least. I personally don't like moving my laptop around...I just keep my laptop on my desk, so having a Kindle gives me a device I can easily move around and read fics/ebooks off of ( ... )

Yeah, I'm the same. I have a laptop, but don't actually move it about! It just sits on it's desk ( ... )

Ah yeah, the Kindle Paperwhite caused the version I have to not be sold anymore. *shakes fist at Amazon* :p I think the biggest improvement for the Paperwhite is the built in light as the Kindle Touch I have doesn't have a built in light but I don't mind that. And the Paperwhite is touch screen too (hence why my Kindle is being shoved aside :(). I got my Kindle for a good holiday deal from a store not from Amazon (of course I still had to register it with Amazon). It has Wi-Fi and the special offers (advertisements from Amazon as screensavers) made my Kindle less expensive than it would otherwise be. I think since the Paperwhite is so new (officially came out this month), it'll be harder to get a lower price for it. I got mine for about $80 from the store and the list price is $100, so it was really hard to resist buying it ( ... )

I've bought a Kindle Touch!!! I found him in a shop in town. I love him! He's still in his box though until his new coat arrives. The Paperwhite from Amazon has a huge wait for it and the only difference really is a light. I already have a light and none of my ordinary books come with a light, so I'm sure I won't be sitting there in the dark trying to figure out how to read it ;)

Oh awesome. :) I heard they were still selling the Kindle Touch in stores. I'm guessing you found a good price for it? I figure with the Paperwhite being so new, it makes sense the wait would be long. I hope you enjoy your Kindle! I still need to get a sleeve for mine so it's protected while I use it. I only have a zippered sleeve that I store it in while I'm not using it. Maybe for Christmas. ;)
