Of New TV

I’ve been so slack at posting lately. I still haven't posted about Pottermore. For those curious, I got into Slytherin! Thank god!

I've been watching a lot of TV, some new shows, and some shows that have been around for a bit but I've been meaning to watch for a while.

Suits: I'd been hearing it's good, got a friend into it before I even watched, and they really liked it, so I got off my butt an watched them all. Love this show, and all his characters. I of course want Mike with Rachael, and therefore don't like his girlfriend (who seems nice enough, but she's in the way of my ship). I’m also happy to see Gina Torres on TV again. I wish there were more episodes in each season, but I went through them way too fast, and now I have to wait till Summer next year.

Downton Abbey: This is my most recent one, I've fallen in love with this show, and just in time for season 2. I really wish it had a longer seasons though, 12 is bad enough, but 6-7 episodes?! I've read there's 8 episodes season 2, but I'm not sure if that includes the Christmas special. I want Matthew, William, and Branson all to myself. I'm shipping Mary/Matthew so much, OMG all those glances at each other! I'd really like to see Sybil/Branson happen, my heart went out to him when he professed his love for her, and wanted to devote his life to making her happy and she didn’t say anything. I love William, and I liked the idea of him and Daisy, but she was mean to him when she had a crush on Thomas. I like Anna/Bates, but that's super sad this season so far. They better not hurt a single pretty hair on Matthew or William now they've gone to war.

New Shows Starting
The Secret Circle:
The "Secret Circle" series follows 16-year-old Cassie, who moves from California to live with her grandmother in New Salem and falls in love with a mysterious boy named Adam. But, when she enrolls in high school there, she realizes that he, she and all the other elite students at the school are witches! She befriends their leader, Diana, but soon discovers that Adam and Diana are dating, which leads to a whole bunch of complicated drama.

I like it. I wish the lead actress didn't remind me so much of Melissa Joan Heart in her Sabrina days because it's was really distracting. So glad Thomas Dekker is on my TV again, I hate the cliffhanger that they left Sarah Connor Chronicles on. I thought the pilot was a little confusing, with their original circle. I swear they said both her parents were in it, but the current one's members are all the offspring of the original one, so does that mean some are siblings? Or that one of her parents weren't? Probably makes sense if I've read the books.

The Lying Game:
The show follows Emma (Chando), a kind-hearted foster kid who cant catch a break. She finds out she has an identical twin sister, Sutton (also played by Chando), who unlike Emma was adopted by wealthy parents and is seemingly living an ideal life. After their initial meeting, Sutton talks Emma into stepping into her life for a few days while she pursues a lead on their birth mother. Initially excited to do this favor for her sister, Emma soon learns that Sutton has gone missing and could be in trouble. Now, Emma must decide whether to come clean to Suttons family and risk her own safety in the hope of uncovering her twin sisters true whereabouts, along with the truth about why they were separated in the first place.

LOVE this. I do find the episodes a little slow though. I really like Emma/Ethan, I can't believe I thought he was ugly in the first episode, but now find him super attractive. The lead actress looks a lot like Nina Dobrev and it's all I could think about in the pilot, but now I can easily tell them apart and it's not an issue anymore. Don't let the fact it's ABC Family turn you off, give the show and few episodes.

Ringer:
A young woman on the run from the mob poses as her wealthy twin sister to try and evade them, but soon discovers that her sister has a price on her head as well.

Like The Lying Game, it's about two twins switching places, however Ringer is targeted to an older audience. I wonder if it will last because it's on The CW and Ringer is suited to an audience older than that (there's only one teenager on the show). I'd been hearing about the show for quite awhile via ONTD (when Sarah Michelle Gellar was pitching it to people) but I had no idea Ioan Gruffudd was in it, so I was so excited when he came on screen. The second episode was much better than the first (which must of had a low budget because that boat scene...). Bridget is likable, though a little stupid? I'd like to see more of Siobhan and not just 3 minutes of her at the end of each episode. I don't think Malcolm is going to survive long, Henry is annoying, and I'm neural on the other characters.

Awkward:
An unpopular 15 year old gains immediate, yet unwanted, popularity at her high school when the student body mistakes an accident she has for a suicide attempt.

I'd been seeing posts about this on ONTD, and people seemed to like it, so I gave it ago eventually (had about 5 episodes to catch up on, which was easy since their 20 minute episodes). I've fallen in love with it. The characters are quirky and fun. I like Matty, but I would like Jenna to end up with Jake since he's actually nice to her and not ashamed to be seen with her like Matty is (though he won me over a little bit last episode). I love Sadie, she's hilariously mean.

New Girl:
I wasn't sure about this one, but I like Zooey Deschanel so I gave it a go, by the end I liked the show. She's cute and it's easy to like her character, I'm already sensing something with her and Jake, but that's probably because he's protective of her.
