The Delayed Confirmation
ME: My greatest fear, and what I would consider to be a waking nightmare, is to be married to a Chinese guy (and his family business for sure) where I will be expected to shed myself in service of the deeply rooted cultures of sexism, patriarchy, and backwards conservatism. A culture that has actual language to describe a woman "entering a family" and "lifting up the husband's reputation" when it's always the woman that does all the hard labor behind the scenes.
