(no subject)
today was totally exhausting. i didn't get to sleep until around 3 and then was back up at 6:30, so of course work was a total madhouse most of the time, though i won't be complaining about it when i get the commission check for this month. went to my friend seagren's when i got off, caught up on what's going on with everyone....discussed my emotional state some, which she was very sympathetic towards. then as soon as i came home she called and insisted i keep a ring that i had borrowed from her, which of course i refused...but she was adamant! so i am now the proud owner of a lovely amber ring to go with my amber necklace.
i'm very jealous of everyone at the rogue wave/nada surf show tonight. i really wish it would have been feasible for me to go...but i was a little concerned about the possibility of someone who would probably rather not see me being there, and i had to request off early for my friend adam's show on saturday night, plus two trips to lawrence in one week just isn't economical for me right now. i have some really large bills that need to be paid this month and the next, which also means my tentative trip to california is going to be pushed back until may. though honestly i bet that will be an idyllic time to visit anyway.
i think, now that i'm back working in independence, i'm going to try to contact a friend of mine out there who does a lot of really great music to see if he wants to work on some stuff with me. we'd talked about it previously, but with me working all the way in overland park, it just seemed unrealistic to try to start something up with that much of a distance to drive, and him being car-less didn't help the matter. i'm hoping he isn't upset with me for not contacting him at all in the last few months...but it's really hard to keep things up when i work 50 hours a week and have a commute of nearly an hour every day on top of that.
okay time for some bath-time action and then hopefully a 6 hour nap!
