So I've been thinking lately that I might want to look into getting a degree in economics. It would have several advantages, including solidly middle-class pay, being related to how the world works, etc. So today, I googled careers in economics and came up with
this page, which explains what economists do all day.
And illustrates it.
Suddenly I don't want to study economics anymore.
ETA: Apparently the Bureau of Labor Statistics specializes in making all kinds of work seem as boring as possible. The section on writers is illustrated with this picture:
It is accompanied by a caption stating that "Authors, writers, and editors check their sources and facts for accuracy. "
In the dullest library in the entire world, it seems. And definitely whilst wearing a suit and tie. I like to imagine that these photographs came from the BLS offices themselves.
