Wow... well, this just proves my theory that people either love this movie or despise it! Eek. Sorry you ended up not liking something I'd recommended.
I remember there being one or two songs where the lyrics felt stilted and like they just put dialogue to music, but I did like a few of the songs. Perhaps this was more about style than substance but for some reason I just found the whole thing very entertaining. I also like Anthony Head as a quasi-villain...

Also, when I hate something, I tend to really hate it (think Twilight). Todd liked it a lot more than I did.
