Yesterday Ryan came over and we were just figuring out what to do.....the day before he had mentioned that it might be fun to head into NYC. So we did....we started out at like 3 o'clock though, which was a HUGE mistake. The traffic was horrendous as we entered the city.
We finally made our way to 233rd and broadway and caught the metro (subway) on 231st. Getting on the metro, we spotted a map and made a decision on where to go from there. We were trying to find a museum that was all about sex, but it didn't work out the way we planned, so we headed to central park to see the museum of National History.
Unfortunatly it was closing just as we got there, but it was quite an experience just to be there. I was able to sneak a quick peek inside and it just looked amazing!!! I had never been to it before and I thought after seeing the movie it would be something awesome to do.
Then we went into Central Park (I think west side) just to walk around a bit. There was a lot of people there, but no one that seemed to bother me like they did when I was a kid. There were lots of little paths and everything,...and they were fixing a little lake thing.
Then we were deciding where else to go and by that time it was getting a little dark. So we hopped back on the metro and headed down further into the city to Times Square. And this was the NYC I knew and loved as a kid!!!!
They had planet hollywood, ticket scalpers, a Toys R Us with a big ferris wheel inside...it was heaven. There were also so many broadway shows playing.... Spamalot (Monty Python), Legally Blonde, The Lion King, and others that I wasn't really familiar with.
Most of the places to eat were a little expensive, so we found a TGI Fridays that puts most of the prices of restaraunts prices around here to shame..... 13 bucks for a burger and fries?!?!?!? I don't think so....
So we only got a side order and drinks. But the waitress was a bitch! First, she sat us in a corner where there was no one...all the waitress' kept passing by but not acknowleging us at all....not even our own. It was like she was pissed off because we didn't order 50 bucks worth of food or something....but it was completely funny when Ryan tipped her..... He wrote a note on teh reciept saying "thanks for the service bitch." Then as we were walking out, she screamed down the stairs (cause we went all the way up to the third floor) "Don't come upstairs again to eat."
It was a riot! Then we left to get back on the Metro...but not before I got a bag of delicious honey roasted cashews.....mmmmmm
Yes it was expensive at 2 bucks a bag....but it was sooooo worth it...... (^_^)
So, I have to get going now cause I have to look up prices and other stuff for another trip back into the city today!!!!
I'm so jumping for joy right now...well, if I didn't just wake up and wasn't going to be loud......
