Rec Post 5/5: Master Post
[A couple of the entries are too large for Livejournal so because of that, and to make any necessary edits easier, all links go that direction.]
I was going to post this monster last week but the universe seemed to be in a bit a tailspin, so I elected to wait until now. As a bonus, I added in a few more recs so the ridiculous 240 fanworks are now a more ridiculous 250 fanworks. Assuming I counted correctly. For anyone following me on Tumblr (tag: fic rec) or Twitter, you've already seen that I'm posting rec links on those platforms more regularly. Generally they mirror each other, but the Tumblr links will, not surprisingly, have more link details and full rec notes. I looked into mirroring those Tumblr recs this direction but, as near as I can tell, the links wouldn't make it through, so that's a bit counterproductive. My Pinboard does have passive recs, which is to say that things are marked as recommendations (tag: admin:Rec) and may or may not be necessarily pushed out to any platform, but beware that they're in the order they were bookmarked, not the order they were changed or updated. Also available is all those things that have previously been recced (tag: admin:Recced).
For this rec list installment, the Avengers and Hannibal sections again have their posts and room to sprawl. Star Wars also has its own in a nod to spoilers. I'd love to curate these lists more carefully for what people in this venue would like to see, but I don't really know where to start with that right now. I mean, there are 72 links for Hannibal alone and that's a fandom I think of being primarily on Tumblr and Twitter, yet it's come up a couple of times on my DW flist in the last couple of weeks, so who knows. There may be a poll at some point. Feel free to get your comments and votes in early.

umadoshi mentioned Scrivener as useful in compiling link posts, I decided to give it a try for assembling this rec list. Bit of a learning curve as I hadn't used it before, but so far, so good, and a lot easier than any other method/programs I've used before would've been given the size of things. On the other hand, I'm still using it like an oversized plain text editor since it can't seem to do outside links within the rich text editor to then export to HTML, so I haven't made a final decision. Due to the nature of user name linking, plain text editing has been my standard operating procedure up to this point, so it's not like I'm losing anything, but if it did everything else, I'd consider foregoing username links for the sake of things being easier. As in it's easier to edit plain text than it is code, even when that code is HTML. (I'm mostly just baffled I can't create a link without physically importing the document. WHY.) Anyway, oh look! It's a rec post!
