Oh, Fandom

There is a particular thread I've been tracking over at st_xi_kink where the readers have gotten a tad... pushy. As in, multiple comments every day demanding an update immediately. It's gone past cute and into the territory of annoying, particularly since tracking means I'm getting every one in my email inbox. The writer is being far more gracious than I ( Read more... )

I don't want to be rude, but stop playing a night in shining armour ok? The author of that story can take care of herself if she wants to. And I'm not suprised that people are insisting. Just look at ALL the stories which have one or two chapters and are not continued and author won't even leave a note saying "Hi guys, just to let you know don't dream about the next chapter". Maybe you like to be dissapointed and wait ages for an update that will never come, but others don't. So try to respect their point of view, because that is the only way in which they can inform the author that they really want an update. In my opinnion - when you started to write a story which have readers, you should finish it, and not run away, because you are bored or you now fancy something else

Perfectly entitled to your point of view and, like you said, the author has been taking care of herself. There is actually a genuine possibility that the comments will fill up as they have in the previous meme posts ( ... )

If you are not playing a knight in shining armour, then why you anounce your deed to all people on your livejournal. Are you that proud of your achievement? A cheap show off honey.

For your information English is not my first language, and if you want to gloat about one spelling mistake then go ahead. I speak fluently in 5 languages so really try something better than that. What you don't understand is that when someone is making a commitment, no matter if it's a tenancy agreement, a job contract or free fiction, then this person should be decent enough to finish what he/she started. If you think that you won't be able to complete your story - don't publish it in a first place. And lets say there is nothing you fancy so much that you would do many things to have it continued> No telly, no book series? I doubt it. So don't judge others who try to secure the ending of their favorite stories, because annoying comments are the only thing they can use.

Have a lovely day

Now I see that you are a person with really serious issues. For your information - I'm having full time job and I'm studying at two Universities at the same time. So yeah, I have so called RL but I don't behave like a jerk and I don't use rude vocabulary to make my point. If a concept of responsibility is so foreign to you then I wish you luck in your future life, because you sure will need it. And no, you can't have my account name - I'm sharing my details only with people who have at least a minimum of intelligence and are not sarcastic and rude because they have problems with their own existence and personal life. One advice - try to think next time before you are going to put a comment. This way at least some people will consider you normal.

Take care
