I never knew watching tennis live could be so exciting. Just got back
from the Sydney Olympic Park. Went by myself to catch a professional
game cos I never watched one before in my life and I don't think you
will ever have such big names coming to Singapore. Was watching the
women's singles finals of the Sydney International Cup. Justin Henin
Hardenne versus Fransesca Schiavone. Was quite disappointed that babes
like Hantuchova and Hingis did not make it to the finals.
Women actually play tennis with grace while the men's game is more of
power and speed. Before the women's finals, I gotta glimpse of another
game going on. US young upstart James Blake and some other Russian guy.
What made today's game between Hardenne and Schiavone exciting was that
the Belgian favourite Hardenne managed to claw her way back into the
game twice in the last 2 sets to snatch victory away from the Italian.
Watching tennis on TV bores me especially after the second set. But
this is different man. And what made it exciting was that it poured
during the last game with Hardenne leading 15 love. What made it
exciting FOR ME was that if the delay were to be too long, I would miss
my train back home. And the Olympic Park is miles away from the city
lor!
Well, anyway the last few weeks have been rather fruitful to me
