Gay Neighbors & The Singaporeans

Jun 29, 2007 17:40

It's Friday and I'm bouncy. I'm done for the day. The holiday weekend is upon us. 4th of July - Independence Day.

I went for a swim in the pool during lunch and really enjoyed the rays. Everybody needs sunlight. Summer's in the air now, you can't miss it. BBQ chicken somewhere in the neighborhood, coconut tanning oil that always seems to linger, the fresh smell of citrus fruit. Here, people are moving again. It's another favorite neighborhood couple of mine. The Singaporean immigrant family consisting of grandfather, grandmother, their adult daughter and her teenage daughter have been gone for a month now, awwwww. No more friendly nods and smiles, classical violin practice at sunset, Hoola Hoop workouts at sunrise and no more ricy, spicy breakfast aromas in the air to wake up to... The guys moving out now are the gay couple. They're bald-headed, introverted computer geeks. Quietly fun. They look like Erasure and would most likely sound like them too. They've lived here since I arrived and I will miss them and their most interesting habits that involved the consumption of endless amounts of Squirt soda and junk food from Jack in the Box. They clearly did not fit the "gay = can cook" stereotype but I liked them nonetheless. *Snicker*

I wonder if anybody saw my "Life in L.A." picture entry on their friend's list? 2 friends have said they didn't until they went directly to my journal. Must be a bug?
